Women's track hosts Manitou Classic

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's track and field team hosted 12 teams in the unscored Manitou Classic on Saturday.

The Oles' Annie Knutson was the team's top finisher in the meet, going 11:48.43 to finish second in the 3000 steeplechase.

St. Olaf had a strong group in the 5000, including Maren Westby who was third and Jenna Carlson who was fifth. The team's other third place run came from Kathryn Thompson in the 400 hurdles.

Abby Smith was fourth as the first of four Oles who finished in the top 15 in the 1500. Smith and Knutson teamed with Alice Deden and Laura Cook to win the meet's 4x800 relay.

In field events, St. Olaf was led by Yevette Willaert's fourth place notch in the discus.
