Pipers past softball Oles 9-0, 7-3

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Hamline University picked up a 9-0 and 7-3 softball sweep of St. Olaf on Tuesday afternoon.

Game One: Hamline 9, St. Olaf 0
After a scoreless first, the Pipers erupted for three in the second, one in the third and five in the fourth.

HU's Ashley Anderberg went 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs in the win.

Game Two: Hamline 7, St. Olaf 3
St. Olaf raced to a 3-0 lead in the first behind a run-scoring double from Ali Berens, an RBI groundball by Kjirsten Speer and a sacrifice fly from Kayla Gronli.

Hamline, however, scored a run in their half of the first and five more in the second on the way to the win.

Kellie Hoen was 3-for-3 to lead HU at the plate.

St. Olaf managed six hits in the loss, but couldn't string together another rally that produced runs. The team's best chance was in the third, when Katie Truax led off the inning with a single. After two outs, Adrianne Rowell singled to left before the inning ended on the next batter's ground out.
