DUNDAS, Minn. - The St. Olaf baseball team stayed alive in the MIAC playoffs with a 9-4 win over Hamline University on Saturday afternoon.
Erik Nelson went 2-for-4 and Tyler Jones 2-for-5 with three RBIs, while each homered, in the win for the Oles. Sam Baltes added a two-hit game and Carson Jones had a homerun and drove in two.
Hamline had leads of 1-0 and 2-1 before the Oles struck for a two-out, five-run rally in the sixth inning on homers from Carson Jones and Nelson and an RBI double from Nick Fuerst.
Erik Olson pitched four scoreless innings of relief to get the win for St. Olaf.
The Oles will play in the championship series against St. Thomas tomorrow at 11 a.m. St. Olaf needs to defeat the Tommies twice to claim the title. Only one team, St. Thomas in 2007, has come from the loser's bracket to win the event.
