Volleyball over Northwestern, Martin Luther

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf volleyball team moved to 3-0 with a four-set win over Northwestern College and a three-set sweep of Martin Luther College on Friday.
The Oles dropped the first set, 21-25, but rebounded with wins of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-19 to overtake Northwestern in the first of the Oles' two games of the day. Kim Smisek had a match-best 16 kills and Katie Wolfram 10 in the win.
In the victory over Martin Luther, Smisek had 15 kills, eight more than anyone else, in the 25-14, 25-17 and 25-15 decision.
The Oles are off to a 3-0 start for the second straight season and the third time in the last five years.
St. Olaf plays twice at Carleton tomorrow: against Crown College at 9:30 a.m. and against Buena Vista University at 11:30 a.m.
