Walsh shoots one-under 70 to share lead after first day at Edgewood Invite

JANESVILLE, Wis. - St. Olaf first year Jonathan Walsh fired a one-under 70 to earn a share of the lead after the first day of Culver's Edgewood Invitational at Glen Erin Golf Club on Friday.

Seven players are within four strokes of the top spot, held by Walsh and co-leader Derek Holmes of UW-Stout into tomorrow's final round.

St. Olaf junior Chris Conklin is seven back of the lead after a steady first round 77.

The Oles are eighth as a team. Walsh, playing his first collegiate event, was entered as an individual and his score is not a part of the team's total.
