Ole women top Norse in overtime

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Catie Christoffel finished a feed from Lindsay Howard in overtime to lead the St. Olaf women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over visting Luther College on Wednesday afternoon.
Luther (1-3-0, 0-0-0 IIAC) controlled much of the first half. The Norse held a lead much of the frame after Dani Meirick notched her fourth goal of the season at 15:59.
Hannah Rosenthal came off the bench to tie the game for the Oles (2-1-0, 0-0-0 MIAC) with just under five minutes to go in the half on a pass from Christina Herron-Sweet.
The second half was filled with scoring opportunities for each team. St. Olaf had eight shots in the half while Luther had seven.
Christoffel's game-winner was her fourth score of the season.
Samantha Sickbert picked up the win in net for the Oles, who host Carhage College on Saturday in the final non-conference test before MIAC play starts next week.
