Men's cross country eighth at Les Duke Invitational

GRINNELL, Iowa - Members of the St. Olaf men's cross country competed in this morning's 49th Les Duke Invitational, finishing eighth in a 17-team field.
The Oles' top finisher in the eight kilometer race was Reid Gilbertson, who was 23rd in 27:23. Chris Massey, a first year was 26th in 27:29, while another first year, Tim Lillehaugen, was 36th in 27:47. Sophomore Matthew Perkovich was fourth for the team in 28:18, and first year Kellen McMillen rounded out the scoring for St. Olaf in 28:50.
The team from Truman State won the meet with 49 points while host Grinnell College was second with 87, and Cornell College was third with 114. St. Olaf tied with Simpson College for seventh place, scoring 198 points each.
The Oles will compete again next weekend as they host the St. Olaf Invitational on September 19 in Northfield.
