Ruon's runner-up effort leads Oles to fifth place at St. Olaf Invite

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Dobuol Ruon was second in a 244-runner field to lead St. Olaf to a fifth place finish in the 17-team St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday morning.
James Krasja of MSU-Mankato was first, winning the 8 kilometer race in 25:21. Ruon won last year's 2008 St. Olaf Invitational in 25:34, while the team was third.
Also contributing to St. Olaf's 129-point tally was senior Jacob Marotz, who was 20th overall in 27:10. The scoring squad was rounded out by Reid Gilbertson in 26th place, Andrew Nussbaum in 37th place and Ben Wilson in 44th place.
The team from MSU-Mankato won the St. Olaf Invitational with 65 points. Two of the Oles' fellow MIAC teams, Saint John's University and the University of St. Thomas battled it out for second and third, scoring 91 and 93 points, respectively.
The St. Olaf cross country teams will compete again next weekend at the Roy Griak Invitational on September 26th.
