Lee sixth, Ole women fifth at St. Olaf Invite

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's cross country team was fifth of 16 teams at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday, led by first year Emma Lee's sixth place run.

Lee's 23:07 run was the first of the Oles' two top-25 performances in the race. Michaela McLaughlin crossed the line in 24:05, finishing 25th overall. Also scoring for the team were Maren Westby, in 30th place, and Abby Smith, in 31st place. Another first year, Georgia Greene, rounded out the tally in 50th place.

St. Olaf totaled 142 points for fifth place, missing fourth place by just two points. The team from the University of Minnesota-Duluth won the meet with 45 points. Winona State University was second with 87 points, and the University of St. Thomas was third with 135 points.

The St. Olaf cross country teams will compete again next weekend at the Roy Griak Invitational on September 26th.
