NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Lindsay Howard scored three times in the second half and had an assist as St. Olaf picked up a 5-0 women's soccer win over visiting Saint Benedict on Saturday afternoon.

The win snapped a 19-game winless streak (0-18-1) in the series against Saint Ben's dating to 1989. The five-goal margin of victory was the most for the Oles in league play since 2005 and the most over Saint Ben's since 1986 (6-0).

Howard's big day came with help from Catie Christoffel. Howard fed Christoffel for the Oles' go-ahead score at 19:42 of the first half.

Christoffel repaid the favor on the next two scores, each by Howard, in the 51st and 71st minutes. Howard added an unassisted goal at 73:58 as the second in a three-goal stretch for the Oles that spanned 5:30.

Hannah Rosenthal scored the final goal at 76:27, on a feed from Anna Theis, for the final margin.

Sam Sickbert got the shutout win in net for St. Olaf (5-1-0, 2-0-0 MIAC). Sickbert faced just three shots. None were on goal.

The Oles play at Wartburg College on Wednesday in a non-conference game.
