Utter third to lead Oles at SJU Invite

SARTELL, Minn. - Billy Utter shot a first round, 1-under 71 on Saturday and finished third after Sunday's final round to lead the St. Olaf men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the Saint John's Invitational.

The Oles were third (tie) of 10 MIAC schools that competed in the event.

The Oles shot a solid rounds of 312 and 314 as a team helped by Utter and four players -- Ryan Lubinsky (79-81 160 +16), Chris Conklin (82-79 161 +17), Charlie Johnson (85-76 161 +17) and Jonathan Walsh (80-81 161 +17) -- who were within a stroke of each other.

St. Olaf has one more tuneup, next weekend's St. Olaf Invitational at The Summit Golf Course in Cannon Falls, before the MIAC Championship on Oct. 3-5.
