LAKE CITY, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's golf team shot its best two-round score on record, helped by Lizzy Zahn's (77-78 155 +11), to finish fourth at the 18-team Division III Midwest Classic on Sunday.
St. Olaf was third among the 10 MIAC schools competing in the event, which is the team's final tuneup before the conference championship Oct. 3-5.
The Oles' Britta Hendrickson shot rounds of 82 and 83 to finish 18th (tie) while Vanessa Kleckner was 23rd (85-81).
The Oles' two-day 651 is 20 strokes better than any other score in the St. Olaf recordbook and 45 better than any from 2008.
The team's first round 323 and the second round 328 rank first and second all-time at St. Olaf. All six of the Oles' rounds this season rank in the top ten in school history.
