WAVERLY, Iowa - 11th-ranked Wartburg scored each of its goals in the first half of a 3-0 win over the visiting St. Olaf women's soccer team on Wednesday night, snapping the Oles' four-game winning streak.
Katy Wendt scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 12th minute. The host Knights (6-0-1), who are riding a 21-match unbeaten streak, then had two goals in a span of 3:59 near the end of the half -- from Kaylee Benning and Chelsea Frye -- to make it 3-0.
The Oles (5-2-0, 2-0-0 MIAC) were outshot 12-4 in the first half, but managed to get 10 in the second.
St. Olaf will return to MIAC action on Saturday with a road game at Concordia College-Moorhead at 1 p.m.
