Women's cross country 11th at Roy Griak Invitational

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Olaf women's cross country team competed in the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday, placing 11th among 37 teams.

First for the Oles in the 6k race was first year Emma Lee, who was 14th overall. Lee finished in 23:15.3. Senior captains Michaela McLaughlin, Abby Smith, and Nellie Adams were second, third, and fourth for the team, crossing the line in 24:19.4, 24:24.6, and 25:02.9, respectively. Rounding out the score was Laura Cook, 108th overall in 25:10.4.

The individual winner in the event was Bethel University's Marie Borner with a time of 21:36.95. The team from UW-La Crosse won the meet with 98 points.

St. Olaf scored 349 points for their 11th place finish.

Next week, the St. Olaf women's cross country team will split up, competing both at the Friday's Blu-Gold Invite in Colfax, Wisconsin and at Saturday's Willamette's Charles Bowles Invite in Salem, Oregon.
