Women's cross country 12th at BluGold Invitational

COLFAX, Wis. - Members of the St. Olaf women's cross country team competed in Friday's BluGold Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Oles finished 12th of 19 teams.
Kelsey Bean, a first year, was the number one runner for St. Olaf in the event, finishing 115th overall in 25:14. Another first year, Rachel Dean, was 126th in 25:26. Erin Murphy was third for the Oles in 25:36, while Kelly Hennessey and Amy Berntson rounded out the scoring in 25:45 and 25:54, respectively.
Morgan Place of the University of Minnesota - Duluth won the 6 kilometer race in 21:34.
The team from host school UW-Eau Claire won the meet with 23 points. St. Olaf scored 376 points in their 12th place finish.
The St. Olaf cross country teams do not compete next weekend. The women's cross country team will compete next on Saturday, October 17 at the Tori Neubauer Invitational in West Salem, Wis.
