Women's cross country 10th at Charles Bowles Invite

SALEM, Ore. - Members of the St. Olaf women's cross country team competed in Saturday's Charles Bowles Invite, hosted by Willamette University. The team finished 10th of a 19 team field.
First for the Oles in the 5-kilometer race was first year Emma Lee, crossing the line in 18:17.61. Lee was 20th overall. Abby Smith was second for the team in 29th place with a time of 18:24.27. Third for St. Olaf was Maren Westby in 55th place. Michaela McLaughlin and Nellie Adams, both seniors, completed the scoring squad in 80th and 102nd places, respectively.
Teegan Schoch of the University of Idaho won the meet in 17:26.92.
St. Olaf scored 260 points in the meet, losing to Portland State in the tie-breaker for tenth place.
The St. Olaf cross country teams will not compete next weekend. The women's team competes next on Saturday, October 17th at the Tori Neubauer Invitational in West Salem, Wis.
