NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Deanne Schmidt's goal with 2:17 left in regulation lifted the St. Olaf women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Macalester. The victory is the program's first over the Scots since 1988.

Schmidt's score helped the Oles (10-4-0, 6-2-0 MIAC), who have four regular season games left, to their first double-digit win season since 2004.

Macalester jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first half when the Scots' Maddy Cochrane scored at 32:00 on an assist from Lauryn Gutierrez, but the advantage didn't last long. St. Olaf tied the game minutes later -- at 37:21 -- on Christine Barringer's first goal of the season.
