ST. PAUL, Minn. - A pair of second half goals helped Macalester College defeat 21st-ranked St. Olaf 3-1 in a MIAC men's soccer game on Saturday night.
The Scots broke a 1-1 second half tie with goals from Stephen Murphy-Logue and Eric Tettegah to hand the Oles their second loss in the last four outings.
After the Scots took a 1-0 lead in the game's second minute, the Oles' Jack Pueringer tied the game with his third goal of the year at 33:45. The game remained tied until Murphy-Logue and Tettegah scored -- at 53:30 and 78:14 -- to take a 3-1 lead.
The Oles (11-3-1, 5-3-0 MIAC) have a week off before their next game, a non-conference match at UW-Superior. St. Olaf returns to league play on Oct. 27 with a home match against Bethel.
