BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Joel Lundstrom scored twice as the St. Olaf men's hockey team defeated Concordia College 5-2 on Saturday in the Oles' second and final game at the MIAC Showcase at Bloomington Ice Garden.
St. Olaf raced to a 4-0 lead on a first period goal from Lundstrom, and three second period tallies from Isak Tranvik, Bryan Osmondson and Ross Trousdale.
After Concordia came within two on back-to-back goals from Pat Dietz, Lundstrom added an empty net score in the final seconds for the 5-2 margin.
Ben Leis worked between the pipes, making 20 saves, to earn the win for the Oles (2-0-0, 0-0-0 MIAC).
St. Olaf, off to its first 2-0-0 start since 1992-93, hosts the University of St. Thomas on Friday in a non-conference game.
