Kneser presents safety plan

After last Monday’s mass murder on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Va., college campuses across the nation were faced with questions concerning campus security and emergency plans.

Input sought for land use

Students and faculty gathered in Viking Theater Monday with two representatives of Boldt Consulting and Vice President of Facilities Pete Sandberg to present their opinions about the possible development of land around the College owned by St. Olaf.

Speaker confronts ancient sacrifice

On Monday afternoon, classicists and interested members of the St. Olaf community gathered in Dittmann 305 to hear Dr. Sarah P. Morris of UCLA, this year’s Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar at Carleton College, to give a talk entitled “Isaac and Iphigenia: Human Sacrifice in Antiquity.”

Givers donate funds

On April 12, faculty and students gathered in Buntrock Commons to celebrate the success of the latest Advancement Office drive, “Beyond Imagination.”

Webstream gains attention, viewers

Thanks to growing interest, both national and international, in St. Olaf events, the College is looking into increasing bandwidth to give more people a connection to campus life.

Gustafson produces popular parody

Jeremy Gustafson ’08 wrote, directed and edited “Harry Putter and the Sorcerer’s Phone” – a 15 minute mockumentary satirizing J.K. Rowling’s first Potter book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.” Rowling’s famous series has become ingrained in culture, a point Gustafson’s film highlights.

Caribou CEO shares experience

Last Tuesday, President, CEO and “Head ‘Bou” of Caribou Coffee Michael Coles spoke to a large contingent of St. Olaf students and faculty as a guest of the on-campus entrepreneurial group OleVentures.
