Construction commences

After years of planning, preparation and anticipation, construction of the new Science Complex will begin in early January, after Friday's groundbreaking ceremony.

Making history with music

The signs are everywhere: lutefisk in the Caf, giant trees in Buntrock Commons, Norwegian sweaters as far as the eye can see. Yes, the days of Christmas Festival have officially arrived.

Magazine wins honors

Amongst colleges with larger magazine staffs, the St. Olaf College Magazine has held its own, and it recently walked away with six awards from the Minnesota Magazine and Publications Association (MMPA).

Events offer opportunities for relaxation

Though Christmas Festival may be the brightest and loudest holiday event on St. Olaf campus, many student organizations show "'tis the season" spirit with other activities and events geared toward student stress relief during finals.

Studies abroad retain top rank

St. Olaf is the number one baccalaureate institution in the nation in both the number and percentage of students who studied abroad in 2004-2005, according to a report by The Lutheran based on the "IIE Open Doors" 2006 annual report.
