Scandal Surfaces

Not that Im a cynic  note sarcasm here  but I cant say Im too surprised that U.S. soldiers were recently busted for abusing Iraqi prisoners.

Off she goes, with reflections on years intact

Last week, while I was strolling down a hallway in the music building, an unidentified professor loudly blurted from behind me, Youre going to have to walk a lot faster if youre going to walk in this hallway. It had been a terrible day, and that was the last strawI had been taken by surprise. My jaw slacked. I was angry, confused and embarrassed all at the same time.

Electronic Shame

On Friday ,May 7, Calif. Secretary of State Kevin Shelley banned four Calif. counties, including Solano, San Joaquin, Kern and San Diego from using electronic voting machines. In addition, Shelley ordered 10 other counties to improve the security and reliability of the devices before approving their use for the Nov. election.

College Republicans exploit 9/11

Last week, a battle for the hearts and minds of the St. Olaf community was fought. The battle was fought primarily with signs, posters and volunteers outside the cafeteria raising issues relating to the war in Iraq and the broader war on terrorism.
