The womens cross country team overcame sickness and sore legs for a strong third place finish in a field of six teams at last weekends Carleton Invitational. The meet marked the beginning of a promising season for an exciting new generation of Ole runners. A tightly grouped lead pack, comprised exclusively of underclassmen, sent out a clear message of the teams vast potential and left little doubt as to this teams ability to carry on the programs strong tradition.
The guarantee is probably the most feared statement in professional sports. The last thing a team needs is to have extra pressure riding on a game or give the opposition something to use as fuel heading into a contest.
