Volleyball starts season strong

The St. Olaf Volleyball team is off to a strong start after rallying against Macalester in the season opener 3-2 Sept. 13 and soundly defeating Bethany Lutheran 3-0 Saturday. Team captain Andrea Otteman ’07 had 17 kills and 17 digs against Macalester and 17 kills against Bethany Lutheran.

Inside the Lines: Skirting the bandwagon

I don’t want to be that fan. That fan who never experiences the ups and downs of a full season. That fan who checks the standings in mid-August and chooses a team with definite playoff possibilities.

Highs, lows at Ole Invite

It was a day of mixed results and tempered expectations at Saturday’s Ole Invite cross country meet. The St. Olaf women turned in a solid third-place performance, but the men finished a distant seventh out of 23 teams.

Ham(line) Sandwiched: Defense dominates, offense sparkles in MIAC opener

The St. Olaf football team won its conference opener Saturday, defeating MIAC foe Hamline by a score of 31-6 at Manitou Field. With their victory over the Pipers, the Oles improve their overall record to 3-0, having defeated Luther and Valley City State in their first two games.
