The St. Olaf men's hockey team clinched a MIAC playoff berth last weekend with a sweep of St. Mary's University. The Oles defeated the Cardinals 3-2 at home on Friday night, and 4-3 in Winona on Saturday, elevating their MIAC record to 8-4-2.

Indoor track gets underway

Both the St. Olaf men's and women's indoor track and field teams have experienced doses of success this winter, which will prove vital in both teams preparation for the spring outdoor season.

Inside the Lines: Another Perspective

In late January, both of us had the opportunity to tag along with more “serious” writers Ryan Maus and Matt Tiano and experience an NBA game from the sports writer's perspective. We're talking fifth or sixth row seats behind the backboard and access to the locker rooms before and after the game. What follows is our observations, both serious and silly, from those two games: Mark's game was against the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 17 and Matt’s on Jan. 31 versus the Sacremento Kings. Both games were, unfortunately, disheartening losses for the Wolves.

End draws near for women

The St. Olaf women's basketball team has endured a tough season, beginning the year with a 1-12 mark. Since 2007 began, however, they have started to find their groove despite injuries and other troubles. Most recently, the team defeated Macalester 58-52 last Wednesday and lost a hard-fought game to playoff-bound Carleton 72-62 Sunday afternoon.

Swimmers primed for 'U': St. Olaf dives into MIACs

After a successful regular season, crunch time has arrived for the St. Olaf men's and women's swimming and diving squads, with the MIAC Championships this weekend at the University of Minnesota. The men, who finished undefeated against MIAC competition, will look for their first league title since 2001. The women seek their third consecutive MIAC title and fourth in the last five years.
