The St. Olaf fastpitch team lost twice last Thursday to Waldorf College in their first two games of the 2007 season. The Oles lost 8-2 and 9-1 in the nonleague doubleheader held at the Rosemount Dome in Rosemount, Minn.
Expectations have risen exponentially for the St. Olaf men's and women's hockey teams in recent years, and much of this improvement is due to stellar coaching. Men's head coach Sean Goldsworthy '94, whose team fell 5-1 to Bethel in the MIAC playoffs last week, led his team to three consecutive conference semifinal berths including the programs first-ever NCAA tournament appearance last year.

If there is a more dominant athletic team than the Gustavus men's tennis team, Division I, II or III, in the state of Minnesota, I haven't found one.
