Shoger reveals inspired life

Students walk into Jan Shoger’s art exhibit and encounter a broad range of media: drawings, jewelry, prints and more. The variety in Shoger’s media forms is matched only by the scope of her inspiration – everything from shadows to cells to Japanese life has blossomed into some part of Shoger’s work, which is being shown in the Dittmann Center until March 21.

St. Olaf percussion plays distant drums

Drums and busses were among the prominent themes of a contemporary music concert at Macalester College in St. Paul on Saturday. The concert, part of an annual regional conference of the Society of Composers, Inc., included performances by members of the St. Olaf Percussion Ensemble under the direction of assistant music Professor Dave Hagedorn.
