On April 22, the St. Olaf Band proved yet again that it is more than worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Ole Orchestra and Ole Choir with a fantastic, shamefully under-attended concert in Boe Chapel.
The Northfield Winter Stomp contra dance, held in February at the Northfield Armory, proved so successful that organizers and participants immediately began planning for another event. Their efforts resulted in the Northfield Earth Day Contra Dance, which took place April 21 in Carletons Great Hall.
Poetry may be considered a dying art in some parts of the world, but the vibrant group of students and community members who filled the Contented Cow on April 19 in support of National Poetry Month showed that poetry is alive and well in Northfield.
On April 17, the music department piano division presented a multimedia experience of French Impressionism. The event, titled Debussy Night: With corresponding visual artwork and narrative commentary, featured 24 students from six piano studios performing the entire 24 piano preludes of French composer Claude Debussy.
