Among the starters returning for the 2005-2006 campaign, Ted Bickel '06, Josh Biser '06 and Jeff Budish '08 should provide strong leadership on the offensive end of the rink.
Veteran goaltenders Dan Kehler '06 and Jeff Wilde '07 will split time in goal. The tandem proved to be the strongest goaltending pair in the MIAC last season, with Kehler earning honors as statistical MIAC goaltending champion. Kehler and Wilde will receive help from a strong defensive unit led by Mitch Mudra '07 and Will Wetterlin '06.
In addition to a strong veteran influence, the team boasts myriad talented younger players, including Budish, Brett Kistner '08, Kevin Eidsmo '08, Andy Ockuly '08, John Paulsen '08, Dylan Mueller '09 and Casey Dynan '09.
Head coach Sean Goldsworthy '94 enters his ninth season at the helm of St. Olaf men's hockey. Through Goldsworthy's tenure, the team has risen from MIAC mediocrity to become title contenders.
If that current trend continues, the Oles should find their way to a third-consecutive playoff berth and a bid for the MIAC crown.
