Mack Traynor '09 led the team in the fall with a 78.6 scoring average, highlighted by a 73 at the University of St. Thomas Invitational.
Also guaranteed to contribute this spring is Bob Hunter '08, who is playing golf for the first time as an Ole. Hunter had a fall scoring average of 80, including a personal low of 74 at the St. John's Invitational in September. Hunter also won the accolade of Academic All-Conference for the fall season.
Brian DeLaitsch '07 returns to the squad as the team's undisputed leader. DeLaitsch had a season average of 80 and a season low of 74 in the Twin Cities Classic.
For the men, the spring season is relatively short. Two tournaments make up the season: the 54-hole Gustavus Invitational and the 36-hole Saint Johns Invitational.
The men's team plans on vast improvement this spring. Shooting an all-time low team score of 304 at the Saint John's Invitational this fall, the squad finished a disappointing ninth out of 10 teams at the MIAC conference meet.
The men's spring season will be over in a span of less than a week. Opening on April 16 in the Gustavus Spring Invitational, the men will conclude their season at the St. John's Spring Invitational on April 23.
