The Oles participated in their third outdoor meet of the spring on Saturday, as they finished eighth out of 11 teams the Wartburg College Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.
Stacy Griffin '07, who was the lone Ole woman to participate in the 2006 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships (held March 10-11 in Tostrud Center), led St. Olaf in the field events. Griffin took third in the shot put, sixth in the hammer throw and 7th in the discus. The junior accounted for 12 of St. Olaf's 49 total points on the day.
The Oles' Elizabeth Ghandour '06, who narrowly missed qualifying for indoor nationals this winter, had a pole vault of 3.39 meters for second in the event.
Over Spring Break, the Ole women competed in a pair of meets at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., the Emory Invite on March 25 and the Emory Classic on April 1.
St. Olaf competes next on Thursday at Carleton. They host the Manitou Classic on April 22.
