Bon Appétit catered the Saturday lunch for 250 women and the Saturday dinner for 160 women. Heather Wood '07, who plays the harp, provided music for the Saturday lunch, while Saturday evening featured the musical talents of woodwind quintet Molly Crane '07 on flute, Christine Holmgren '07 on oboe, Christine Hanson '06 on clarinet, Molly Boes '08 on bassoon and Erin Shannon '09 on horn.
On Sunday, 220 mothers and their daughters caught up with one another around white tablecloth settings. Wood again provided musical ambiance on her harp.
Anne Christanson '07 attended the Sunday brunch with her mother, and happened to sit with a few unfamiliar Oles and their moms. She commented, "[The brunch] was interesting sitting at a table where I didnt know anyone beforehand, but my mom had a good time."
Each meal featured a different guest speaker. At Saturday lunch Janet Kringen Thompson '70, interim vice president for college relations, spoke, and at Saturday dinner Pamela McDowell, associate dean of students and director of residence life, took the microphone.
This years brunch guest speaker was Peggy Hanson, mother of Christine Hanson 06. Hansons message was clear: Live, love, laugh and dance. Hanson made sure her audience knew that a relationship featuring these four things is key for mothers and their daughters.
