Last week, the men's track and field team met at the Washington University Select Meet in St. Louis, Mo. to claim third of the 11 teams.

"I thought that we had some very good performances down in St. Louis, especially from our 400-meter runners, and I feel that we competed well in a wide variety of events," Bobby Anderson '08 said.

John Schantzen '10 in the shot put finished first with a distance of 15.41 meters. David Swanson '08 took first in the 10,000-meter run at 31:39.23, followed by Jake Marotz '10 and Adrian Swanson '11 in third. Johnathan Lambert '11 finished first in the 500-meter run at 15:35.78. Doboul Ruon '11 placed first of 45 with a time of 3:59.31 in the 1500-meter run, and junior Cullen O'Neill finished fifth.

Bobby Anderson '08 finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 13.13 meters behind Dink Simmons of Illinois College Gio Sykes of Greenville.

Zeke Heydenreich '09 finished third in the hammer throw at 43.07 meters in front of two athletes from Illinois College. Isaac Tut '11 placed third in the 400-meter dash finishing at 50.54.

"We looked strong after being away from competition for about a month," Anderson said. "It was fun to get outside in some nice weather to get some performances under our belts as the outdoor season begins to hit full swing."

The next meet for the men's team will be April 12, the Meet of the Saints in Collegeville, Minn. followed by the Saint John's Decathlon on April 13-14 at the same location.
