This spring, the St. Olaf women's golf team looks to maintain its momentum from the fall season. In October's MIAC championships, the women set an all-time team scoring record on the way to a third-place finish.

Britta Hendrickson '09, who finished fourth overall, had a major impact on St. Olaf's fall success. Head coach Luke Benoit is excited to see Hendrickson join the golf team this year.

"Solid ball-striking, good course management and a calm demeanor give [Hendrickson] the game to compete on any course," Benoit said.

Lizzy Zahn '10 proved she can be a top performer at the collegiate level in her second season and she continues to show great potential, Benoit said.

Captains Anna Johnson '08 and Emily Segar '09 have posted solid scores for the Oles this year. Alyssa Zuehl '09 rounds out the Oles' top five.

Unfortunately, the fluctuating spring weather kept the Oles from practicing outdoors before last weekend's Wartburg Spring Invitational.

"In a sport like golf, it's absolutely critical to get on the course and play a few times before getting any sort of comfort level," Benoit said. "Practicing indoors helps, but taking the game to grass is a tough transition." The weather recently trimmed the Oles' already brief spring schedule. Next weekend's tournament was cancelled, so the Minnesota Championships held April 19 and 20 will mark the team's final spring competition.
